May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 9th July 2021.

We reflect from Genesis 46:1-7, 28-30 and the Gospel Matthew 10:16-23.

We all return to glory, honour, and blessing when we continue to trust God.  Jacob got to see his beloved son Joseph after long time.  We too have the same sentiments of wishing to see our loved ones during this pandemic.

The pandemic has robbed from us so many relationships, family ties and time to be with our beloved ones.  With God, we will overcome it soon.  Whatever the loss and pain we go through now will disappear when we get to see each other in person.  To make that happen, we continue to see and be in touch with God and trusting God that God will do this for us.  At present, we might be living and working amidst the wolves, and the merciless taskmasters putting our personal safety, security, and mental health in jeopardy.

The longing to see the face of God and wishing to experience the countenance of God will pull us forward in life.  Jacob felt contended just by seeing his son Joseph.  “Israel said to Joseph, “I can die now, having seen for myself that you are still alive.” (Gen.46”30).

It is time to keep the flames of love and trust in the Lord burning with zeal, and zest.

As we continue to read the missionary discourse, Jesus reminds the Twelve about the roughness, challenges of the journey they are embarking on.  He strengthened them that even though He was with them, yet they needed to face the perils in the situations of life.  Our own family members, kith and kin, and close associates and friends will put us in difficulties and emotional pain, yet we all need to know and believe that the Holy Spirit is there to defend us and making us courageous facing any situation in life.

“See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of them.” (Mt. 10:23).  Let us be aware of the presence of evil and never panic about them.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
