Jesus instructs us to trust God and not to fear of anything or any situation

May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 10th July 2021. We

May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 10th July 2021.

We reflect from Genesis 49:29-33, 50:15-26 and the Gospel from Matthew 10:24-38.

More we love God, less we fear people, places, and plans of life.  Most of our fear bubbles up the periphery when we feel insecure, insane and insufficient.

As the blanket of fear has shrouded the existence and experiences of human life more than ever during the repeated waves of pandemic, we need to fumigate our hearts with trust, hope and love in God.  A mantra of peaceful and prosperous life is to live without fear.

Relying on God’s care and protection opens the avenues of forgiveness and charity.  Providence of God provides, protects, and promotes security and welfare all through the life.  Our last wishes are taken care by God through people who love us.

Death of Jacob and Joseph evoke the sentiments of hope of reaching our homeland with our ancestral roots.  Death of Jacob brought fear in the hearts of the brothers of Joseph.  Till the end, Joseph displayed a magnanimity that resounds God’s love and care for them.  “So have no fear; I myself will provide for you and your little ones.”

The responsorial Psalm strengthens us, “Turn to the Lord in your need and you will live.” (Ps.69:33).

Jesus instructs us to trust God and not to fear of anything or any situation.  God watches over ourselves at all circumstances.  As Jesus sends his disciples into a world that unfriendly, challenging, difficult and indifferent, He told them not to fear any condition of life that threatens.  God who cares for the movement of even a tiny sparrow will never forget us.  As Jacob was assured by Joseph and Joseph was assured by his brothers, so God assures us all through Jesus.  Forgiveness dissolves any type and amount of fear.

What am I afraid of now, today as I read these lines? Death or sickness or relationship or losing loved ones?  Jesus urges us in the Gospel at least three times not to fear.

May we have a day full of blessings.  God bless you.
