May the Lord give you peace and good health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 16th July 2022. We celebrate the memorial of Our Lady of Mount Carme. May the Lord bless all the members of the Carmelite family who work night and day for the welfare of the people of God. Wishing you all a happy feast. We reflect on Micah 2:1-5 and Matthew 12:14-21.

When we see abject poverty, war, fear and terrorism mushrooming around us, we wonder why God can’t put a full-stop for everything without realizing our personal contribution towards it.

Cut-throat competition is everywhere including the most sacred spaces of the worship. Someone speaks ill-of someone for making them great, scoring points, climbing the power ladder and acquiring more power in everything. One size fit for all when it comes for putting down the other person, burying them, assassinating and maligning the character of the one with whom we have difficulty in coping with. Fighting, quarrelling, belittling the other person is so rampant every nook and corner around.

The Psalmist cries out in prayer: “Do not forget the poor, O Lord.”

No matter who wants to get rid of us or destroy us, God has vowed to protect and promote us. God speaks to each one of us in this way: ““Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.” (Mt.12:8). May the Lord help us to be the instrument of peace, hope and love to people around us. God bless you.
