It is 26th October 2020.

The readings are from Ephesians 4:32-5:8; and the Gospel from Luke 13:10-17.

We cannot be friends of God when we continue to remain enemies of humanity.

Love and forgiveness set us free.

When we truly love people, we begin to experience the moments of forgiveness and healing right within.

Love is the light of human soul that enlightens selfish darkness.

Love wards off all that wordy, worldly, and worthlessness in us as we handle others with tender loving care.

St. Paul encourages in today’s reading that love is not real when forgiveness is absent in our life.  By emulating to love like Jesus, we assert to be the children of God.  We go to church to love and be forgiven by God.  But at times, we tend to forget that God has forgiven and forgotten our faults and failures while we still reflecting and remembering the sins and failures of others.  As we all love to be noticed, forgiven and healed by God, so we create the environments of healing.  Being grateful to God and one another is the appropriate response to authentic love.

“Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure person, or one who is greedy (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” (Eph.5:5).

The responsorial Psalm acclaims, “Try to imitate the Lord, as his own dear children.” (Eph.5:1).

Being noticed by Jesus is a reward for repeated attempts to see Him and being healed by Him.  God recognises our wounds and brokenness through Jesus when we sincerely love God through the others in need.  We too live in a world in which people value many things more than human persons. The total expression God’s love is present in the love and care of Jesus in noticing the suffering of a woman.  We do not need a human approval and appreciations to do good.  We do not need to restrict ourselves doing good by shielding a law.  We all have the power and blessings of the Lord to set people free and make them feel the freedom of our faith and good works can do.  May our love for the other be guided and motivated by the power of God’s love experienced through Jesus.

May the Lord grant us the courage to love people and set them free without seeking for approval and appreciation.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
