It is 27th October 2020.

The readings are from Ephesians 5:21-33; and the Gospel from Luke 13:18-21.

Love discovers mysteries of God by unfolding and unpacking inner struggles in connecting with the humanity.

For giving we all need to be forgiving.

Family bonding is not merely physical but it is profoundly spiritual.

St. Paul explains the connections between Christ and the Church is pivotal example for the couples grow in love towards each other.  In mirroring each other, the couples reflect God and Christ. Spousal love is the reflection of God’s love in their lives.

Submitting does not mean subordinating oneself to the other.  In married life, domination from anyone corrodes the beauty of the family.  Arrogance, pride, aversion, all-knowing-mentality are the toxic elements bring about all fights in our families.  Love is not mere emotions and words rather it is the openness towards the vulnerability of the other.  In dying to selfish motives, and all forms of hypocrisy in relating with the other the couples begin to experience the divine within themselves and around.

The potentiality to grow is right within when fruitful environments are provided.  The Gospel reminds us from the two parables the message of potential growth inherent in the yeast and the seed.  However small is the growth yet it is significant for its entirety.  In married life, however small the acts of love and service to each other are contributed for the entire growth.  It is better to take initiative within the family in every given opportunity God gives the members rather than expecting others to begin.  May our families realise the presence of God in their lives so as to value each other’s worth and love.  Say a prayer for a family that goes through a difficult time today during this most challenging and painful times of pandemic.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
