May the Lord grant you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 21st July 2022. We celebrate the memorial of St. Lawrence of Brindisi, Priest and Doctor. We reflect Jeremiah 2:1-2; 7-8; 12-13 and Matthew 13:10-17.
The Lord repeatedly attempts to consolidate love as that of a marital love. Honeymoon does not lost long. Yet, God keeps comes closer to connect with us by making us fruitful. God treasurers God’s people as sacred, serene and sanctified.
Have we settled down near leaky cisterns leaving the fountain of living water, the Lord? The Psalmist boldly proclaims: “In you, Lord, is the source of life.”
The readings suggest that we need a heart to love and learn from the Word of God. At times, we might be taking those precious things in life for granted. The most significant one in spiritual life is that of the bonding with the Lord. Jesus reminds the disciples that they are enjoying something others long to.
“For to those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.” (Mt.13:12). We all have had a special moment that was filled with grace and blessings in one part of our life. It is our constant endeavour to return to those moments that revived and renewed us. The more we return, the more we benefit.
May our listening to the Word of God lead us to unlearn the evil from our lives and be attached to the Lord closer day by day. God bless you.
