Dear People of God,
May the Lord give you peace, grace, and health in the Holy Spirit. It is on 04th January 2023. We reflect on 1 John 3:7-10 and John 1:35-42.
Have you encountered the Messiah?
As we reminisce the loving memories of the late Pope Benedict XVI, his last testament sheds light on how he found the messiah. Some people say that the key to Benedict’s pontificate is ‘God is love.’ This comes from his unwavering faith in Jesus, the Messiah, and the saviour. In his first encyclical, Deus Caritas est, to the love of God, He describes what it means to be a Christian. “Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person.”
Forgetfulness, laziness, procrastination, and hangover are our personal struggles that do not allow us to seek the Lord on time.
Apart from these personal struggles of our own, we too are constantly deceived by someone or something. This spiritual struggle and pattern do not allow us to live a holy life, consequently leading us to battle against the other person. “Anybody not living a holy life and not loving his brother/sister is no child of God’s”
Unless we have a rapport with the Lord, we cannot introduce the other person to Him. “He first found his brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah.”
We all need to attend the come-and-see programme with the Lord. It is enacted daily in the holiest Eucharist on the altars of the Church. So many have found the Messiah and have life in abundance. Don’t you want to give a try to find Him who offers integral healing and health? Let us spend some quality time in searching for the Messiah not only in the messiness and busyness of life but also in our relationships with one another. May God bless you.
