May the Lord kindly bless you with good health and happiness in the Holy Spirit.
It is 05th July 2022. We commemorate the memorial of St. Antony M. Zaccaria, Priest. We reflect on Hosea 8:4-7,11-13, and Matthew 9:32-38.
We did not choose God, but God did it without any hesitation even after knowing everything we can do for or against God.
The first reading reminds us about how God expects always to return our love and faithfulness to God and God alone without being distracted by other petty gods which promise prosperity and power. Being grateful to God is the fertilizer for our faith. Ungratefulness leads to unfaithfulness to God. This attitude allows us to rely on petty gods more than the One who called and chose us. A wilful and intended exclusion of God leads to limited growth and development for us.
Jesus admonishes us, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” Praying for vocation is the need of the hour. By compromising the quality, we end up losing the quantity. Yes, there is so much of a shortage in a number of good things, good people, and opportunities, yet we need people with a heart of compassion and charity to serve without expecting anything in return. May the Lord help us to be a faithful servant who serves the common good. May God bless you.
