May the Lord kindly bless you with good health and happiness in the Holy Spirit. It is 06th July 2022. We commemorate the memorial of St. Maria Goretti, virgin, martyr. We reflect on Hosea 10:1-3, 7-8, 12 and Matthew 10:1-7.

Selfishness and sinfulness are to be sedimented

God calls us all to be fruitful in integral relationships. Vocation is not a one-time call but it’s calling within the call. It is a consistent response to God for a noble cause and common good. Every vocation can lead us to fullness and wholeness as long as we live up to it. Discovering a new path is not sinful but inconsistently compromising it leads to infidelity.

Fruitfulness in abundance could pave the way for familiarity, infidelity, fanaticism, fixation, idolatry, selfishness, and sinfulness. The prophet Hosea relates the infidelity of Israel to its unimaginable abundance. The time to search for God is here and now and so, let us examine the barren space of our hearts and lives and prepare them for God to bless us. It is so easy to forget the Lord and the poor when we are so blessed materially and eventually it brings our lives down and out.

The Psalmist encourages us to seek the face of the Lord untiringly.

Jesus calls and chooses the Twelve for the ministry. Ministry is to glorify the Master not for mastering and muscle in on our skills. “Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!” (Mt.10:7). The mandate of Jesus remains open for all. Are we ready to respond today? Or are we going to make Jesus wait for a while? May God bless you to take a call on the call of Jesus.
