It is 11th February 2019. We celebrate the Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes. On11th February 1858, the Blessed Virgin Mary made her first apparition to Bernadette as a 14-yr-old peasant girl and her sister at a cave. Mother Mary appeared to her 18 times asking her pray for priest and for the conversion of sinners. We are also in the week of Prayer for the sick. May we bring the sick people near Jesus. It needs to be the primary duty of being Christian to pray for the sick and the needy. The readings are from Genesis 1:1-19; and the Gospel from Mark 6:53-56. God creates an orderly world by separating and preparing a place for all to live. God desires to touch the world and make it fruitful always and expects us to keep the order without pollution and environmental abuse. The responsorial Psalm praises, “May the Lord rejoice in his works.” (Ps.103:31). People are after the Lord Jesus for healing. The Gospel presents the untiring Jesus when it comes to healing. But Jesus is more than willing and ready to heal us no matter whatever is the sickness. Jesus desired that the Word of the Father takes the precedence over the healings and miracles. Even today most of us are after the healers and miracle workers without any willingness to receive the Word of God to be with Jesus as the Word of Father. May the Lord give us courage to allow the Lord to touch our souls to be opened to the attentive listening of the Word of God. May you have a good day. God bless you.
