It is 25 February 2019. The readings are from Sirach 1:1-10; and the Gospel from Mark 9:14-29. We all wish to have wisdom but searching for it from a wrong person. Wisdom that comes from God is that we all need. God is the origin of Wisdom. God offers wisdom to all whom God loves. When we please God through faith, we are assured and filled with the wisdom of God. Clarity for the soul and light for the mind comes only by the wisdom that comes from the Lord. We obtain the comprehension of God’s plan and schema of our lives through God’s wisdom. No one can have the understanding of realities without the help of the wisdom. The first reading teaches us that God is the creator of wisdom and it proceeds from God to all those who are untiringly searching for the light, the footprints of God in tough walking in God’s path. “It is God who created her; God saw her and took her measure; God poured her out upon all God’s works, upon all the living according to God’s gift; God lavished her upon those who love God.” (Sir.1:10). Without loving and believing God, we cannot have the wisdom of God. The responsorial Psalm praises, “The Lord is king, with majesty enrobed.” (Ps.92:1). The Gospel describes the power of faith that offers the enormous spiritual strengthen to cast out evil. To deal with the sins that are habitual and haunting repeatedly, we need a lot of prayer and fasting. Jesus was not happy about the quality of faith in disciples. Our search for truth and justice need to culminate in the complete surrender of our souls to God. When we are united in prayer and having certain amount of fasting and sacrifices regularly, we are capable of knowing and loving the will of God. May Jesus help us to cast out the mute spirit of unbelief in us so as to bear witness to Him always. May you have a good day. God bless you.
