May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

We reflect on Numbers 13:1-2, 25 – 14:1, 26-29, 34-35 and Matthew 15:21-28.

Does reconnaissance lead to repentance?

We celebrate the memorial of Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein).

Things do go wrong in life.  Sometimes truly and terribly go wrong.  But it goes more disastrous when we lose the grip on God.

Every one of us, however useless and infamous we could be at this point in our life, and with or without any quality we all so much needed for the work of the Lord.  Finding our path to God and Heaven is the goal of our life.  We need not copy and follow someone for something except Jesus.

We need to keep moving forward no matter what makes us get stuck to a person, people, place, and program.  In this life journey, we cannot mourn over the past, and rejoice over the future but to be present in the moment we are alive and active.

With God on our side, we do not fret and fear about the future and glorify and gloat over the past.  God always asks to move around as God asked the people of Israel to move into the Promised Land.  Lack of trust in God always makes us lazy, secured, and secret and relying on those petty gods we secretly worship hidden in the private and unauthorized liturgy of selfishness.  However, by challenging the situation in front of us, we can make it with faith, trust, and belief in ourselves.

“Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith!  Let it be done for you as you wish.” (Mt.15:27).  Our faith in Jesus can be everything.  Though unclean and sinful we can be, we are healed by the unwavering faith in Jesus like that of the woman in the Gospel.  It can change the heart of Jesus.  The affection of Jesus is not for a particular group but for all who believe in Him as the Son of God.  Faith offers strength and stamina to withstand any test we need to go through.  We become righteous, justified, and chosen before God by faith in Jesus not by rituals and rites.

Accepting others as they are is not a privilege but an empowerment of being human and bringing the divine closer to the other human being.  Rejection and unfounded fear can make us far from God.

May the Lord help us to come closer to God so that we may be able to feel the presence of others as it is presented to us.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
