Dear People of God,

May the Lord give you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is on 16th November 2022.  We have the memorials of Saints Margaret of Scotland and St Gertrude.  We reflect on Revelation 4:1-11 and Luke 19:11-28.

Can God trust us with the things of the world?

“Heaven is the perfectly ordered and harmonious enjoyment of God and of one another in God,” teaches St. Augustine.

At times we all think and believe that Heaven is a place, but it is more of a presence of God.  Whenever we recognize the presence of God in us and others, we already have the foretaste of Heaven here on earth.

A boy prayed, “Dear Lord, what is it like to die and go to Heaven?  Then he added, “I do not want to experience it.  I just want to learn about it.”

Recognizing and relinquishing the goodness in one another can makes us feel a glimpse of Heaven.  We all have been entrusted enough to bring the best.  It is our thinking that causes us to do nothing with what we have already received from God.

Truth and prudence help us put into use all that we have received from God.  Being grateful for gifts allows us to be sincere in small things.  If we are reliable and trustworthy in little things, God relies on us more for the great things.  “I tell you, to all those who have, more will be given; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.” (Lk.19:27).  The more we use them for the welfare of others, the more we gain it all.

The Catechism strongly believes, “To live in heaven is “to be with Christ.” The elect live “in Christ,” but they retain, or rather find, their identity, their own name.  For life is to be with Christ; where Christ is, there is life, there is the kingdom.” (CCC 1025).

It is our fear of failure and losing what we have that does not allow us to take risks in using our talents and gifts for others.  Let us try new with whatever few we have in our hands.  May God bless each one of us to put into use what we have received from God.
