It is 28th January 2021. We celebrate the memorial of St Thomas Aquinas, Priest and Doctor of the Church.
The readings are from Hebrews 10:19-25; and the Gospel from Mark 4:21-25.
Encouragement and appreciation are key to interpersonal relationship. What we believe needs to be put into practice by our hopeful behaviour and attitudes. We all the access to enter the sanctuary of God because we all have been washed by the blood of the Lamb. Hence our light within can shine in our actions that inject hope and love in others. We do not need to ashamed to come closer to the abode of God no matter what we have gone through in our life.
The author encourages us all to be the participants entering into the tent of love and healing. Absenting and absconding ourselves due to the reasons we hold do not help the community at large. Just because we have the privilege to enter and experience, we need not ignore and abuse others even in least sense. “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” (Heb.10:25). There is fire in everyone to love and serve. The moment we recognise them, we ignite by our love and service.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.” (Ps.24:6).
There is no need to hide our good works even if it irritates the other. People recognize the love of God in the way we serve not merely by talking. We shine and glow when we share and sacrifice. Have people around us seen the light shining through us? “For to those who have, more will be given; and from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.” It swells up and overflows when we are willing to share and shine. May the Lord help us to shine through our faith, love, and merciful and charitable acts. Have a lovely day. God bless you.
