It is 29th January 2021.

The readings are from Hebrews 10:32-39; and the Gospel from Mark 4:26-34.

Never step back in hoping and being optimistic in doing good.

As the first reading suggests that we all have gone through in our life so much.  We have done so much good to the others yet being blamed and abused by the other.  Our faithfulness in doing good need not depend upon the way people respond and approve us.  Life does not depend on approval rate of the society.  Let us not constrict and close ourselves because the person who received favour have turned against us and dumped us.  “My soul takes no pleasure in anyone who shrinks back.” (Heb10:38).

The responsorial Psalm encourages us, “The salvation of the just comes from the Lord.” (Ps.37:39).

Growth belongs to God.  Work, sacrifices, and efforts are ours.  God’s kingdom permeates and spreads its growth only when we have done our part.  Jesus points out, we can plant a seed, it sprouts and grows.  We do not know how the growth is happening.  Growth happens in divine silence.  Every good we do happen in a small scale yet having greater impact in and around us.  “The seed would sprout and grow; he does not know how.” (Mk.4:27).  Our patience and faith always pay us more than we have asked for.  Every one of us has something good in us.  There is no one is redundant or useless.  May we ask the Lord to help us value others not the way we want them to be contributors but as they are.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
