We can be angels to someone as long as we listen to the Voice of the Lord and the Word

May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 29th September 2021.

May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 29th September 2021.

We reflect on Dan 7:9-10, 13-14 and the Gospel of John 1:47-51.

We celebrate the feast day of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels. Angel means messenger of God sent by God to accomplish a specific task at moment in the life of an individual or a group. Saint Michael, a warrior against all evil and demonic attacks (Rev. 12:7-12), Gabriel, a messenger who brought the news of salvation to the people of Israel (Dan. 8:16), and Raphael, a healer who accompanied Tobit.

Michael in the Hebrew language means “Who is like unto God?” or “Who is equal to God?”  Gabriel means “Man of God” or “Might of God”. Raphael means “God’s healing” or “God the Healer” (Tobit 3:17, 12:15).

“Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.” (Ps.103:20). The presence of the angels is undeniable during this pandemic and in all challenging situation of our life that the archangels are always with us in helping us to obtain all the favours from God.

We too are the angels of healing, spreading the Good News that God cares and taking a stand against injustice, abuse of all kinds against humanity and creation at large.

We can be angels to someone as long as we listen to the Voice of the Lord and the Word. “For God will command God’s angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” (Ps. 91:11). Jesus cements our conviction in angels by answering to Nathanael, “I tell you most solemnly, you will see heaven laid open and, above the Son of Man, the angels of God ascending and descending.” As we celebrate this feast for the Archangels, let us join their efforts in bringing us closer to God by proclaiming, healing, and fighting against evil. These angels are with us in any evil that we are facing and trying to get rid of it. “Put on the whole armour of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”  (Eph 6:10).

May you be blessed through the powerful protection and intercession in defending our lives against all evil. Wishing you all who are named after these Archangels. God bless you.
