To lead others to God, we need to be firmly rooted in the Christ

May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 12th May 2021.

May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 12th May 2021.

We reflect from Acts 17:15, 22-18:1 and the Gospel of John 16:12-15.

Before creating a new road or path, it is better to have some knowledge about the existing roads already used by the people.

Just because people enjoy listening to our sharing and speeches does not mean that they accept what we say at times unless and until we unlock the hearts and minds with the power of the Holy Spirit.  The elites are interested in listening to us over and over because they are open to learning and listening.

Our sharing of insights and thoughts need to bring someone closer to God and Christ even if they are not familiar.  That is what St. Paul did.  He introduced Christ in such a way, people of Athens wanted to listen to him.  To lead others to God, we need to be firmly rooted in the Christ.  St. Paul brought God so close to the people of Athens through Christ.  It is through Jesus; we always feel we are so close to God.

Our philosophy and theology may fail helping us to come closer to God but not our faith in Jesus.  Listening to the Word of God and responding to the promptings of the Holy Spirit are essential to bring us closer to truth and to recognise the lies we have inhaled in.

To evangelise, we need to travel with people the roads familiar to them.

Knowing partially and bragging about the truth is like spitting the poison on an innocent and immaculate mind of people.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” (Jn.16:13).

Let us allow the Holy Spirit to lead us to the Truth, Jesus Himself.  Until we know Him, we may not be able to love Him.  Have a peaceful day.  God bless you.
