Have you felt the sense of sacred in the Church, the family and in the workplace?
We reflect on 1 Kings 8:1-7, 9-13 and the Gospel from Mk.6:53-56.
God touches us through Jesus. God travels with us,
The presence of God is amidst us; we need to have the eyes of faith to experience it.
We have the most powerful place in our church is the place of Blessed Sacrament. The presence of God surrounds the place always where there is the Most Precious and Sacred Eucharist is venerated. God’s presence in the Most Holy Eucharist is unavoidable yet we seldom notice because of our attitude and lack of faith in the power of the Eucharist.
God occupies a very special place in our churches and his healing and consoling presence is amidst us.
In the first reading, we experience the presence of God in the temple built and dedicated to God by King Solomon. The radiance, and grandeur descended on the temple was extra-ordinary felt by the priest that they could not do their duties.
“The glory of the Lord filled the Lord’s Temple.” (1 Kg.8:12).
The responsorial Psalm invokes the Lord, “Go up, Lord, to the place of your rest.” (Ps.131:8).
The Gospel echoes the power and presence of Jesus felt by many people just by a simple touch.
“Begging Him to let them touch even the fringe of his garment. And all those who touched Him were cured.” (Mk.6:55,56).
How serious are we with the encountering the presence of the Lord in our lives?
When our hearts turn to be grateful, we begin to experience the presence of God among us. We are so blessed to have the Churches with its power of the Sacraments, the help of the sacramentals and the guidance of the ministers of the Sacrament to provide and lead towards the presence of God.
May we make a sincere effort personally in experiencing the presence of in our little sanctuaries and the churches where we worship.
The sense of the sacred is present in the Sacraments, in the neighbour, and in the nature. God touches us through these. Have we got the longing to touch Jesus? “All those who touched it were cured.” (Mk.6:56)
