May the Lord give you peace in the Holy Spirit.
It is on 30th June 2023. We celebrate the memorial of the First Martyrs of Rome and in the Apostolic Vicariate of Arabia, it is the Day of Prayer for Martyrs of Yemen.
Are you in control of a situation or the other way around?
We reflect on Genesis 17:1, 9-10, 15-22 and Matthew 8:1-4.
What seems impossible humanly, is possible for God always. Even in our hesitation, and hazy faith, God acts so wondrously and miraculously for our welfare.
Nearly twenty-five years waited for the promise of God to come true. Abram is promised a child by God at the age of 100. “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” (Gen.17:17). Though Abram brushed it aside by taking it as a divine humour, God proved God’s love for the humanity by keeping His Word. Abram pleaded with God to bless and protect Ishmael as a backup plan in case God’s promise would not happen.
God wills to give more than we believe and bargain with God. Even if we do not have the capacity to believe, God gives and blesses us.
Jesus heals a leper who wished to be healed and eventually, it connected with the will of Jesus. “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” (Mt.8:2). Look for the courage of the leper to approach the Lord and ask for it. This gesture not only needs faith but inner courage to come closer to the Lord when we feel cringing and sinful right within. Whatever the obstacles, sins and struggles in our faith, Jesus is more than willing to offer what we ask Him in faith and love. Jesus does not hesitate to heal any leprosy in us. The Lord wants to touch our life by all means. Are we willing to ask for His healing touch to be upon us?
God wants us to be healed and blessed even when we find it hard to believe it happen due to circumstances or physiological conditions that are contrary. Our faith is strengthened by our love however failing and far apart from the Lord. May we believe that we have got it before we asked from the Lord. “For your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” (Mt. 6:8). Have a lovely day. God bless you.
