Regardless of our life situation, Jesus heals our wounds

Good morning good people, May the Lord give you peace in the Holy Spirit.  It is 01st July

Good morning good people,

May the Lord give you peace in the Holy Spirit.  It is 01st July 2023.

How hospitable are we?

We reflect on Genesis 18:1-15 and the Gospel from Matthew 8:5-17.

“Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?” (Gen.18:14).

However unworthy we may feel as we read these lines, be assured that God wants to visit us, dine with us, and give us our heart’s desire.

The Three Divine Persons paid a surprise visit to the humble tent of Abraham.  Their visit brought the blessing of a long-awaited promise in the person of a child for the one who is physically passed the possibility of giving birth.  In the Gospel, Christ visits the home of Peter and healed his mother-in-law.  Earlier on, Jesus healed the servant of the Roman official.  It is in line with the prayer of the Centurion, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed.” (Mt.8:8).

Jesus takes our infirmities and bears our diseases as prophesized by the prophet Isaiah.  Regardless of our life situation, Jesus heals our wounds.  The only condition and prerequisite for healing is faith in God and the Word of God revealed in Jesus who cures us.

We may not obtain all that we pray and plead from God but our prayers surely prepared and offer the courage to face the pain and challenge ahead with God’s grace.  Let us continue to nurture our gift of faith!

May we place our trust in Jesus just because we believe in God.  May God bless you.
