May the Lord fill you with grace and bless you with health and happiness.
We reflect on 1 Corinthians 2:10-16 and Luke 4:31-37
There is an attraction towards worldly wisdom in most of us. But the first reading encourages us to believe in what we are already bestowed that is spiritual wisdom to discern and know the things that God wants us to do. “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit, which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.” People filled with unclean spirits do not experience and realise the power of God’s wisdom.
The Holy Spirit is with us all to communicate such knowledge and to be a messenger of peace. The evil spirits know the power of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel brings out the power of Jesus who is filled with the Holy Spirit deals with the evil spirit with authority. “He gives orders to unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out.” (Lk.4:37). The healing ministry of Jesus continued through the Church and through each one of us who are baptised and confirmed. To lead others, we all need such authority and power of the Spirit of God and filled with spiritual wisdom.
So, there is no need to panic and live in fear about anything evil around us. Let us strive always to spiritual person that can help us withstand any challenge in life. May God bless you.
