The eucharistic hope that enables us to see the destination not dissention

May the Lord give you peace in the Holy Spirit.  It is 03rd October 2023.

We reflect on Zechariah 8:20-23 and Luke 9:51-56

The feeling and experience of God-with-us generates hope.  Rejection and adversaries cannot dry the moisture of hope.  Hope is not the finite conviction with definite conclusion but with the infinite possibility that makes sense out of human presence. Hope builds confidence.

When mission lacks compassion; caring sounds scary; love leads to lust; faith defeats friends; hope remains a personal gift and strength to be patient and docile to God’s plan.

The eucharistic hope that enables us to see the destination not dissention.  It is not the deviation but the devotion.

The Gospel portrays Jesus on a long journey to Jerusalem, a place of suffering and his final glory.  Even though he knew the moments of pain and suffering He needed to face in Jerusalem, He carried on in His journey.  The rejections, the unwillingness to receive Him from the part of Samaritans did not stop Jesus.

But Jesus was able to move on amidst rejection.  When we are clear about our destination, we are distracted by rejection and eventually we eject ourselves.

Let us keep on walking with Jesus until we meet the merciful Father in Heaven.  Let us learn to be tolerant, and enthusiastic in our spiritual journey to Heaven. May the Lord bless us all to reach God’s dwelling place.  Have a good day.
