Prayer keeps our hope alive, active, and agile

May the Lord bless you with grace, peace, and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 29th November

May the Lord bless you with grace, peace, and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 29th November 2021.

We reflect on Isaiah 2:1-5 and Matthew 8:5-11.

The acknowledgement of our unworthiness is always noticed and blessed by God.  As we value ourselves as the child of God, so we do not hesitate to spell out our shamefulness.  Prayer provides the courage to admit everything as we are before God.

God wants to make a New Covenant with God’s people through the incarnate Word of God in the first reading.  Recognizing the presence of Christ in prayer.

“Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant will be healed.” (Mt.8:8).

Our life does not allow us to confess what and who we are no matter what responsibility we hold in our life.  This attitude gives us to rely on Jesus and His healing power even when He is not present physically as it happened to the servant of the centurion.

His Holiness Pope Francis underscored yesterday that to be vigilant we need to pray.  The Pope suggested that during Advent we make a habit of saying “Come, Lord Jesus” throughout the day.

Yes, prayer keeps our hope alive, active, and agile.

It is our turn today to intercede for someone who is sick.  Let us think of someone somewhere who needs the healing touch of Jesus.  God wants to come and live with us.  May we become the instrument of hope for those who suffer during this time of sickness, sadness, and fear.  May God bless you.
