Good morning good people, May the Lord give you peace and good health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 1st May 2021. We enter another new month celebrating the memorial of St. Joseph, the Worker. He is the patron of all working people and most of us who work, he remains a model and motivation without giving up on what God has entrusted us to do. May St. Joseph intercede for all working people who face so much uncertainty and job security every moment, intercede for a world of equality and respect for human labour. May we turn to St. Joseph daily, before we begin the day of work.
His Holiness Pope Francis invites all of us during this year of St. Joseph to turn to Mother Mary by praying a marathon of the rosary to end the pandemic all around the world. Let us all unite in this together praying the rosary not just one rosary a day as many as you can. God listens to our prayers through the intercession of Mother Mary.
We reflect on Acts 13:44-52 and the Gospel Matthew 13:54-58.
When we put all our hearts towards something, and that did not work the way we expected, we need to focus on other directions and areas. Life is not to be considered as one stroke and one leap rather it is a multiple attempts to reach where God wants us.
When the missionary efforts towards Jews did not bear fruit the way Saints Paul and Barnabas expected, they did not give up but move towards the areas of non-Jews. The Gospel is for everyone. The power of the Gospel does not depend on the capacity of the receiver. Just because someone is not ready at this moment does not mean they reject rather we need to work with the pace of God towards all people. God will employ someone some time to share the Good News with those who find it hard to accept at this point in time.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “Give success to the work of our hands, O Lord.” (Ps.90:17).
Jesus, the son of a carpenter never gave up when faced with situations in life when people belittled and spoke evil of Him. There is so much to believe and love during our lifetime. Let us keep focused on God like St. Joseph that we can be productive and be in line with the plan of God in our life. May God bless you abundantly. Have a lovely day.
