It is 20th March 2021.

The readings are from Jeremiah 11:18-20; and the Gospel from John 7:40-53.

In everyone’s life, there is a moment in which we are framed negatively by people around.  When we are honest and truthful, some people begin to tag us dishonest and lying.

Jeremiah confesses that an innocent person led to the houses of slaughter.  “Let us destroy this tree in its strength, let us cut him from the land of the living, so that his name may no longer be remembered!” (Jer.111:19).  As long as our prayer be, “let me see your retribution upon them, for to you I have committed my cause.” (Jer.11:20).  Whenever we are unjustly treated, it is good to trust God in whom we have placed all our trust.  People can destroy our names and reputation, but God stands by us all means.  For God, we are the priceless, precious, significant creation.  “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone” (Ps 118:22)

The responsorial Psalm intercedes, “Lord, my God, I take shelter in you.” (Ps.7:2).

The identity of Jesus is being put to test in the Gospel. When the authorities wanted to do away with Jesus, those who went to arrest Him were confused.  If we are not clear about the identity of Jesus, we too can become a stranger and closed towards the good works done by the Lord in our life.  honesty opens all the doors of our heart to accept the Lord as He enters the passion and pain.  God continues to reveal Himself through Jesus always.  How often we look down on other by their face value?  Let us pray for a heart full love not prejudices towards the others.  Let us treat the other person as God has treated us.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
