God’s providence is greater than the provisions of the world

Good morning good people,

May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 19th June 2021.

We reflect from 2 Corinthians 12:1-10 and the Gospel from Matthew 6:24-34.

It is human to boast about all that we are, all that we have achieved and having in abundance. During this time, we prefer to forget or keep God aside.

Can we boast about our weakness, failures, and fallenness?  We must be crazy to do such thing indeed.  But there is a spiritual maturity to come to this level in which St. Paul shares his personal weakness and able to feel the presence and power of God in it.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness. So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” (2 Cor. 12:9).

Feeling the power of God and converting it as the resource and platform amidst our inability to change, to achieve the desired destination, and to struggle being generous to God is indeed grace from God.  No weakness and sinfulness can make us powerless when we are willing to feel the power of Christ right within ourselves.

To achieve such a state of spiritual maturity, we need to have a single mindedness that is inculcated by the Lord in the Gospel.  When we are the crossroads between God and wealth, our choice needs to be on our faith rather than of fame and name that is offered by wealth.  “No one can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” (Mt.6:24).

Moving forward amidst the worries that pull us apart from God, we need to bury our trust in the Lord.  God’s providence is greater than the provisions of the world.  Worry is the spiritual cancer that eats from bottom the roots of faith.

May we make the decision to serve the Lord alone with all our weakness and brokenness.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
