Good morning good people,
May the Risen Lord grant you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 04th May 2023.
Are we competing or complementing in doing good?
We reflect on Acts 13:13-25 and John 13:16-20.
Love shines in action. Without action and presence, love remains in words carved in the wind. God’s love is not just words rather it is full of action displayed in the salvation history.
God’s Word is so powerful because it leads us to act or to experience the action in the heroic believers in humanity.
Our identity depends on God’s security traced through the golden strings in the history that has the heartbeat of God. Love of God does not accompany people from afar. God’s love submerges to the deepest spaces of every species.
A profound reflection of history cannot leave out the participatory presence of God in every moment of life.
St. Paul in the first reading brought out those moments of God in a candied cream of the God’s intervention of human questing in connecting with God. The discourse of Paul is a reminder for all of us retrace and reflect the moments in our life to take note of and to offer credit to God for all that God deserves our praise and honour. God’s providence in our life has the shades of happy as well as painful life.
The Gospel begins with ‘book of Glory’ (chapters 12-20) describing passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. After washing the feet of the Apostles, Jesus reminds them to be a slave, messenger and servant without replacing and capturing the place and position of the master.
Our charity must not cloud the glory of the One who has given the opportunity to do good. In no way, our doing good suppresses the goodness of God. We are all called to serve and share like our Master.
Love of Jesus displayed in humble and symbolic gesture of washing of feet. What is the humble and a symbolic act are we going to perform in our families, communities and in our countries?
We need to avoid kicking and hacking our loved ones. There is no competition in doing good between those who love complementing the other. Jesus is our model. Reflecting the model of Jesus, we need to mirror it out in such a way that others are able to see Jesus through us. “Whoever receives one whom I send receives me; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.” (Jn.13:20). Let out love be for the welfare of the others as much as possible. May you have a good day. God bless you.
