Are we a bridge or a ridge?
We celebrate the Feast of Saints Philip and James, Apostles.
We reflect the readings from 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; and the Gospel from John 14:6-14.
These two apostles had one aim in common that to bringing others to the Life, the Truth, and the Light. With all our initial struggle in believing Jesus, we all can be strengthened by bringing those who in of His Life, Light and Truth. Leading others to Jesus are the primary responsibility of every believer.
Every believer is a bridge between Jesus and others. Being receptors of the Word of God is not enough instead to become connectors to God. Just like Philip and James, we need to have a firm faith in Jesus throughout our life situations.
To experience Jesus, we need to familiarize with the Word of God and display it through our actions. Whatever is the past whether sinful and scattered, we all become evangelizers by our personal conversion and communication with God and one another. Faith moistures and manures in everyone by sincere and dedicated evangelisation.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will know my Father also.” (Jn.14:6).
Our longing to experience God can culminate in Jesus. Without knowing, loving, and believing Jesus, it would be rather difficult to believe God.
