May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 27th May 2021. We celebrate the memorial of St. Augustine of Canterbury.
We reflect from Ecclesiasticus 42:15-25 and the Gospel from Mark 10:46-52.
“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” (Heb.11:6).
God opens the eyes of faith in us through Jesus. A story of healing full of meaning than mere miracle.
We have a miracle of healing the blind man by Jesus for our reflection. The story suggests a few steps to follow in our lives as we too are blind in one way or the other. The first step of healing is to be aware of the presence of Jesus followed by praying in a manner that is noticed by Jesus. “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!” We all need to make this prayer.
There will be some people to discourage our efforts in going near Jesus. Who are the people preventing us to come closer to Jesus?
We need to be enthusiastic to meet Jesus in person ““Courage, do not be afraid; Jesus is calling you.” Yes, Jesus is calling each one of us to listen His healing and life-giving words.
He was ready to leave the cloaks and comes to Jesus with barely anything. We need to get rid of those things, people, and places to begin a new life with a spiritual vision with Jesus. If we are asked today by Jesus: “What do you want me to do for you?” what that will be? The blind beggar asked Jesus and obtained what he asked for. “Ask, and you shall receive.”
Be clear about what the one thing we want to ask Jesus. The blind man was loud and clear about his request: “Lord, let me see again.” Are we clear in our prayer what we truly need for ourselves?
Faith in Jesus brings the desired healing. “Your faith has made you well.”
Following Jesus after receiving healing from the Lord. “He regained his sight and followed him, the Way.”
After receiving the sight of faith, are we helping others to see Jesus? Jesus is more than willing to heal and restore us.
We all need to find the Way, the Truth and Life in Jesus by having uncompromised faith in Jesus. May our faith bring the blessings for our complete restoration. Have a peaceful day. May God bless you.
