God is so close to us when we believe Jesus without hesitation

May the Lord give you peace in the Holy Spirit.

It is on 12th August 2023. We reflect on Deuteronomy 6:4-13 and Matthew 17:14-20

We celebrate the memorial of Saint Jane Frances de Chantal.  Early married and widowed mother with four children inspired by St. Francis de Sales, founded the Congregation of the Visitation giving the utmost importance to the personal and prayerful visit to the sick.  She is the patron saint of forgotten people; in-law problems; loss of parents; parents separated from children; and widows.  She always wanted to do things that pleased God, especially bringing God to those who are sick.

The first reading continues to express the need to have a firm faith in one God always.  Forgetting God is the beginning of denying God and the goodness of God in our lives.  Remembering God in every birth of a second of our lives is not only the commandment but also our purpose.

Life makes no sense without God.  When we make choices and decisions in our lives that makes us feel the absence of God is the wilful attempt to forget God in our lives.

Our life here on earth is for bringing the best version of ourselves God wants us to be by remembering and resonating the goodness of God by actively participating in the plan and the mission God has entrusted to each one of us.

Trusting in God means mission.  Our belief in God must bring peace and all blessings to us and to all with whom we come in contact.  We do not believe in God for ourselves only.  Our faith in God helps us to find the image and likeness in others and duly value them no matter how disfigured humanity is at present.

Shema Israel is the open and unbiased confession of faith in God.  “Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone.  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.” (Deut.6:4).

The Gospel expects us to have deep faith in Jesus to accomplish the mission that is entrusted to us.  God is so close to us when we believe Jesus without hesitation.  Jesus expects us to demonstrate our faith in times of need.

We are all entrusted with the mission of healing.  When we fail to heal people, our faith is in question.  Little faith does no good to the welfare of a soul.  It is time to demonstrate our firm faith in God through Jesus.  Our faith in the Lord needs to grow day by day.  However little faith we have, we must have the potential quality to do something on behalf of Jesus.  our boldness in doing good comes through deep faith in Jesus.

“And nothing will be impossible for you.” (Mt.17:20).  May you have a good day.
