It is 22nd April 2021.
The readings are from Acts 8:26-40; and the Gospel from John 6:44-51.
“Evangelization in our time will only take place as the result of contagious joy. An evangelizer must never look like someone who has just come back from a funeral” says Pope Francis.
Evangelization is a personal journey of meeting the risen Christ and leading the other and allowing them to experience without any force. The evangelization is not a part time job. It emerges from life lived in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit evokes the work of evangelization.
When people are searching for meaning in their life, they are looking for answers. We need to be ready, willing, and equipped to explain the Scripture to anyone in need like St. Philip, preach to Samaria, a people of mixed race of Jews and the Gentiles. Personal evangelization is the need of the hour today to reach out to people.
To Evangelize, we need to be in touch with the Holy Spirit, and the people.
God is willing to teach us, are we ready to learn? The learning becomes complete when we are willing impart it to others.
The Good News reached as far as Ethiopia.
St. Philip led the Ethiopian official to Jesus by explaining the Word of God.
We ask friends and children to read the Word of God. Have we ever asked them whether they understand what they read?
In the discourse on the Bread of Life, Jesus tells us that it is not we find Jesus, but the Father finds us and leads us to the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
How often we are led by the Holy Spirit to evangelize the other? May you have a good day. God bless you.
