As long as we follow Jesus truthfully and sincerely, we experience life in Christ

May the Lord grant you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit. It is 05th August 2022.

May the Lord grant you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.

It is 05th August 2022. We celebrate the memorial of Dedication of the Basilica of St Mary Major. we reflect on Nahum 2:13; 3:1-3, 6-7 and Matthew 16:24-28.

Sufferings and pain do not end in the time we prefer. We all want our hard times to end soon. Yes, with God, all that we go through painfully comes to an end. But it all depends on our faithfulness and humble submission to God. The more we live a life of rebellion and selfishness shrouded with sinfulness, the more pain and suffering encroach on our relationships and interactions. This is what happened to the people of Israel.

Prophet Nahum foretold that the slavery of Israel under Assyrians would come to an end. With God’s grace and might, the people of Israel enjoyed freedom and liberation. But when they forgot, what God has done to them and began living a life that did not please God, they were brought low by Babylonians and later by Romans.

In the Gospel Jesus strengthened the strings of hope saying: “For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?” (Mt.16:26). Hence, the Psalmist boldly confesses about God, “It is I who deal death and give life.”

Suffering, failures, and pain are only temporary, but life is a permanent gift from God. As long as we follow Jesus truthfully and sincerely, we experience life in Christ. May you have a peaceful day. God bless you.Good morning good people may the Lord grant you grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
