May the Lord bless you with grace, peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 01st September 2022. We reflect on 1 Cor 3:18-23 and Luke 5:1-11.
A man who built aircraft approached a pilot to abort the takeoff of the flight loaded with passengers due to adverse weather conditions. But the pilot refused to take his advice saying that he knew how to fly as he was an experienced pilot. Soon after the takeoff, the plane crashed and killed all people on board along with the pilot.
Moving out of our comfort, and confronting a new situation is not that easy for many of us.
St. Paul continues to stress that when we are divided, we are more confused and lose confidence than ever. God has great plans for us. It is going by the wisdom of God; we can live a better life. “For the wisdom of this world is folly with God.”
When Jesus asked Peter to do something, with his conventional wisdom, he protested yet he surrendered and got surprised by the miraculous catch. It is hard for a fisherman to accept the insight from a carpenter. Are we surprised to have listened to the Lord? Are we attached to people, places, and things so much that hinder what God has planned? Are we ready to plunge into the deep unknown from the familiar comfort zone?
God wants us to let go that someone or something to enjoy the blessings in abundance waiting for us. May we embrace the wisdom of God and enrich with the knowledge of the world. God bless you.
