It is 03rd August 2022. We celebrate the memorial of St. Peter Julian Eymard. We reflect on Jeremiah 31:1-7 and Matthew 15:21-28.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued my faithfulness to you.” (Jer.31:3).
There is no one who can love us like the Lord no matter what we have gone through in our life. we are the significant person of God.
We live our lives in a hurry and sometimes we do not realise the everlasting love of God or the cry of the poor.
God assures God’s people in the first reading of God’s unwaveringly faithful love towards them. In the Gospel, on behalf of an ailing daughter, a loving mother pleads and cries for help from Jesus. Even if God would like to reserve blessings for someone, our faith changes the reservation and choice of the Lord. It is all about how we approach the Lord in prayer and brings the desired intentions in our life. It is not about loudness and attention seeking-mentality in prayer, the way we put across our desperation in a language of love and conviction. “She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed instantly.” (Mt.15:27,28). Persistence penetrates the silence of the Lord and brings all the blessings.
Let us not give up on God. Just like the woman in the Gospel, may our prayers be focused on obtaining what we intend. May God bless you.
