It is 7th October 2015. We celebrate the memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. A true Catholic is the one who is serious about the Rosary. Do you pray rosary daily? If you are not praying the Rosary daily what stops you? St. Louis de Montfort emphasized, “Never will anyone who prays his/her Rosary every day be led astray. This is a statement that I would gladly sign with my blood.” The readings are from Jona.4:1-11 and the Lk.11:1-4. The first reading talks about how God is good to extend God’s love to all people. Jonah realized that God goes out of God’s ways when it comes for forgiving people. “I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity.” (Jona.4:2). It frustrated him what he preached did not come true, even though God gave him the message. How do we react when God forgives someone? The responsorial Verse invites us all, “Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News.” (Mk.16:15). In the Gospel, the disciples asks Jesus to teach them how to pray. Jesus presents a model prayer with all its required elements such as praising God, then the petitions of daily bread, and forgiveness. The daily Bread is the Word of God. Our prayers must not look like a shopping list. We write one thing on the list and end up buying another. Any prayer to be fruitful, forgiveness is the center of it. May God help us to connect through our daily praises, forgiveness and submitting our needs to God. May God give you peace.
