It is 01 January 2016. Wishing you all a blessing filled New Year 2016. We celebrate the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God. Mary is our model and intercessor throughout this year. Mary never leaves us in any situation in our lives. Just like our Mother Mary, let us learn to accept the will and plan of God for us. It is time to be open and hopeful that God will take us through ups and downs of life. As that of Mary, we need to have enough time reflect and ponder the mercies of God in our lives. During the Jubilee of Mercy, may we imbibe the spirit of mercy and forgiveness for us and of the world. It is also the First Friday of the month dedicated to Sacred Heart of Jesus. May we boldly and joyfully undertake the Corporal and Spiritual Acts of Mercy to make the difference in the world. The readings are from Num.6:22-27; Gal.4:4-7 and the Gospel from Lk.2:16-21. The first reading blesses us all as we enter into the New Year 2016. “The Lord bless you and keep you! The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace.” (Num.6:24-26). The responsorial Psalm bless us: “May God bless us in his mercy.” (Ps.67:2). The second reading reminds us that Jesus was born of a woman so as to make us all the children of God. It is a second chance for the entire humanity to come closer to God in an intimate way. The Gospel brings out the simplicity of the shepherds to look for the new born Jesus and Mother Mary as the model for faith journey ahead. Mary’s heart journeyed towards God through her reflection. May God bless you all. Happy New Year 2016.
