It is 18th November 2017. We celebrate the memorial of Dedication of the basilicas of Saints Peter and Paul in Rome. The readings are from Wisdom 18:14-16, 19:6-9; and the Gospel from Luke 18:1-8. The author of the book of Wisdom finds God in the history of salvation as he found in the display of the nature. He reminds us that God cares for us and God is consistent in showing His mercy to God’s people throughout the history. The human history is still in the hands of God as it unfolds daily to our surprises. No matter how hopeless the events of the day may look for our perception, yet God embryoids the unconnected beads of human living and longing to bring out the plan and will of Him to the fullest at the time. We need to be patient with God as God unfolds the layers of the uncertainties with the powerful certain strokes. We are all on the exodus. The end of night and bondage is so near yet seeming so far. The passage of freedom is in the hands of God. As the people of Israel were between the army and the deep blue sea, we are in between God’s plan for our salvation and our desire to be see a miracle of joy and hope to feel the presence and love of God as intimate ever. God cannot forget God’s people no matter what. The responsorial Psalm praises, “Remember the wonders the Lord has done.” (Ps.104:5). The Gospel invites us not to lose heart when God takes time in serving His justice. Our prayer must thin down and our hopes must not vanish. It is the persistence in prayer and the confidence in the Lord will bring us safe and sound to the shores of plenty and blessings. May you have a good day.
