It is 2nd March 2019. The readings are from Sirach 17:1-15; and the Gospel from Mark 10:13-16. God reveals God’s plan to us always. Just because we are the children of God. “The Father has loved us so much that we are called children of God. And we really are his children.” (1 John 3:1). In every plan and plantation, God wants us to be there as the pivotal part of the creation. God never excludes us in anything God created and designed for the world. Just because God created us in God’s likeness and in the image of God male and female. It is God who bestowed us with knowledge, understanding and filled our beings with wisdom. Only we have the capacity to know and understand the plan of God. No other is entrusted with the plan of God just like us. We have the power to believe and trust God. “God gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in the name of Jesus.” (John 1:12). We need to be accountable and responsible to what we have been revealed. God watches every step we make and every thought we ponder. So, there is no need of hiding ourselves from God and it is not at all possible. God wants us not to destroy and disfigure the image of God in us by falling into wrong-doings. Acknowledging God and appreciating God’s presence being grateful is the appropriate response of praising to God. As the children of God, we need to come closer to God without any force or push from someone. Love needs to be reciprocal. As God demonstrates God’s love by creating us, so we need to display the channels of love and hope around us. The responsorial Psalm intercedes, “The Lord’s kindness is everlasting to those who fear him.” (Ps.102:17). The Gospel portrays the spontaneous love of children towards Jesus. But there is someone always not allowing the children come closer to the Lord. Our disposition needs to be like that of the children who freely love to hold the hands of Jesus. The hands of Jesus are always stretched towards us so that we may grab His hand anytime. When we are holding something in our hands, it would not be possible to hold the hands of the Lord. When there is a shortage of trust, there is enormous fear and doubt to hold a hand even if the hand is so caring. We need to leave everything that is holding our hearts, souls and beings against the Kingdom of God. We are to imbibe the qualities of children to follow the Lord. Our openness and welcoming gestures are so much needed to keep the friendship with God and Jesus. May you have a good day and God bless you.
