It is 5th June 2020. We celebrate the memorial of St Boniface, Bishop and Martyr.
The readings are from 2 Timothy 3:10-17; the Gospel from Mark 12:35-37.
St. Paul demands an exemplary life inspired by the Word of God for the preaching and teaching.
The same principle applies to the families on earth.
God expects from every parent to tap resources from the inspiration, wisdom and counsel of the Word of God and from their personal life a transcript or model in mentoring their children.
Never settle yourself to be a mediocre.
St. Paul urges Timothy to be inspired and enlightened by the Word of God at all times along with the challenging life of Paul himself and the selfless mentors of the family of Timothy.
Most of us are too quick to criticize, complain, and comment the lives of the others without being challenged, and guided by the Word of God in our own personal life.
How many of us have completed reading the Word of God at least once during this covid-19 pandemic?
The Sacred Scripture inspires, examines, questions, corrects, encourages, leads, cleanses and fills the core being of everyone who reads and reflects.
It is time to inspire before we expire, to explore before we explode, to dedicate before we dictate, to deliver before we divide, live before we teach and discern before we die.
Being faithful to what we believe generates insight-filled life. The Word of God is the soul food that sustains every human life.
Let us be on guard in consuming stuff that stagnates our energy in synchronizing with God and synergizing with the rest of the world.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “O Lord, great peace have they who love your law.” (Ps.119:165).
The Gospel questions the understanding of the Scribes in refusing to accept the divine origin of the Lord.
Jesus cannot be boxed with our narrow and biased views.
Jesus is God and man. Jesus belongs to everyone and every culture.
He cannot be condensed within one culture or background.
Embracing Christ as the universal Saviour and Messiah needs a profound understanding and belief in the divinity of the Lord.
Let us not worship Jesus for our conveniences but from our convictions that He is our Saviour and Lord.
May we continue to inspire others through our faith in the Person of Jesus, the Eternal Wisdom of the Father, the Word made flesh.
