May the Risen Lord bless you with Paschal joy. It is 11th April 2023. We reflect on Acts 2:36-41 and John 20:11-18.
“Brothers and sisters, what should we do?” (Acts.2:37).
St. Peter convinced those who put Jesus to death to repent and be baptised, forgive, and receive the Holy Spirit. He warned them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” (Acts.2:40). Many were brought near Jesus.
Something happens to everyone who meets the Risen Lord. The vocation and mission are clearly manifested to us by the Risen Lord in the intimate and personal encounter. Every personal and intimate encounter with the Risen Lord ends in evangelisation. Listening to the Word of God is the most essential for us to come closer to Him. Accepting Jesus and believing Him as the Messiah and Master of our life is the response of evangelisation.
The responsorial Psalm praises, “The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.” (Ps.33:5).
The intimate encounter of Mary Magdalene with the Risen Lord is also possible for all of us who long to see Him. Only by seeking like her, we can experience seeing the Lord that leads us to believe. She was there near the tomb so early grieving for the One she loved. Jesus recognises her sincere love and reveals Himself. “Seeing that she loved much, her many sins are forgiven. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little” (Luke 7:47). Unlike the most of disciples, she stood near the Cross and Jesus rewards her with the personal encounter.
When our hearts and lives turn towards the Risen Lord Jesus, we too can experience like her.
May the Risen Lord help us to repent, believe and forgive. Have a lovely day. God bless yo
