Dear People of God,
It is 02nd of January 2015. The first Friday dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is also the memorial of Saints Basil the Great and Gregory Nazianzen. The first reading is taken from the first letter of St. John, which promises us that the anointing we received during our Baptism teaches us about everything which is true. When we deny the initial catechesis we received from the Church, we may deny the truth in some point. This ultimately leads us to break the intimate relationship with Jesus. “Let what you heard from the beginning remain in you.” (1 Jn. 2:24) In the Responsorial Psalm, we hear, “All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God.” While the Gospel today invites us to be the voice of Christ in this world. We are not only called to be the Prophet, we need to be the Voice of Jesus in this world. “I am the voice of one crying out in the desert, ‘make straight the way of the Lord.” (Jn.1:23) May our life be the voice of Jesus, which straightens the way for me and for others. The voice is nothing but our personal response to what and who we believe in. This voice within us is our faith in the Lord churning us into action. Responding to the voice of Jesus is what abiding in what we have heard from Him. May the Lord bless you to be faithful to him just resonating in our humble ways. May God bless you.
