Dear People of God,
It is 3rd day of January. Today is the First Saturday dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The First Reading from the First Letter of John advises us that a state of mind without sins is the prerequisite to see God and know God. “No one who sins has seen him or known him.” (1 Jn 3:6). God’s love has given us the privilege to call God as Father. It is indeed a free offer by God through His son to love him and know him. Purity is required to see God. The Impure cannot see the Pure. “Blessed are the pure in heart, will see God.” (Mt.5:8) In the Gospel, we witness the Sinless Jesus is encountered by the Pure John the Baptist. “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” (Jn. 1:29). In order to make ourselves pure, we need to encounter Jesus, the Lamb of God. In every Holy Mass, we participate, we behold the Eucharist Lord so as to confess our sins. In every encounter with Jesus, we are purified by him. The Eucharist Banquet is a time of personal presentation of our very selves and get purified by him. Jesus is the one who can remove our sins. Let us encounter him in the Eucharist Lord as well as in every human person. It truly requires a kind of purity to see Jesus in others. When we are sinful, it is indeed hard to see Jesus in others.
