It is 25th October 2015. It is 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time. The readings are from Jer.31:7-9; Heb.5:1-6 and the Gospel from Mk. 10:46-52. In the first reading, God promises God’s people a joyful return from the exile. God leads the people of Israel from the captivity to freedom, from nothingness to the fullness and from slavery to salvation. “I will let them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble.” (Jer.31:9). The second reading tells us that Jesus the Great High Priest is the perfect sacrifice our sins. “He is able to deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is subject to weakness.” (Heb.5:2). As God is forgiving and compassionate to us, so Jesus is so sympathetic to our weakness. The responsorial Psalm praises, “The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.” (Ps.126:3). In the Gospel, we encounter Jesus, who demonstrates the extra ordinary care and concern toward the blind person. God is interested in leading us, healing us through God’s beloved Son Jesus, are we willing to see the power of healing through our faith? We all are blind in one way of other in recognizing God’s mercy and compassion. We too need to see God again through Jesus. Without the faith in Jesus, we will not be able to see God as loving, forgiving, and merciful father. “My teacher, let me see again.” (Mk.10:51). Our faith in Jesus will never go unnoticed in God’s presence when it is accompanied by good works.
