It is 26th April 2019. The readings are from Acts 4:1-12; and the Gospel from John 21:1-14. Jesus is our Devotion, Drive and Direction to God. To be a witness means to take a firm stand for something or someone who is not accepted by the majority. There is no shortcut to Heaven except to have faith in Jesus, the Risen Lord. If and when Jesus becomes our way of life, we are sure to reach God. Jesus alone knows the Way and is the Way and leads us to bay in God through our faith in Him. Even if the majority are against the stand we take for Jesus, if there is truth in what we believe and presence of the Holy Spirit in our faith encounters, we must continue to assert it all the more. The account we read in the first reading is the proof of being a witness for the Risen Lord. For the good things that happens around in our faith encounters is all because of Jesus and we must never take the credit for it. Propagation of faith in Jesus establishing the connections with the others through the power and presence of the Risen Lord brings about the changes we desire. “By the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene and by no other that this cripple man is able to stand up perfectly healthy here in your presence. For of all the names in the world given to people, this is the only one name by which we can be saved.” (Acts. 4:10,12). The responsorial Psalm praises, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the corner stone.” (Ps.117: 22). Jesus invites us to have a breakfast with Him. When we have decided go back to our old life-style, and when we think that our strenuous work did not pay off the way we wished, Jesus, the Risen Lord there waiting at the shore of our life to strengthen us through a loving meal and meeting with Him. Meeting the Risen Christ would solve all the problems we face and fill us with the power of the Holy Spirit. Let us not be satisfied to meet Jesus in our churches, may we find him in the stranger, the hunger, the homeless and the poor. May our agenda of being a Christian to know and to be intimate with the name of Jesus. May God bless you and have a good day.
