May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 01st October 2021.
We reflect on Is 66:10-14;1 Cor 13:4-13; and the Gospel of Mt 18:1-5. It is the first Friday of the month dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. May we entrust this new month in the hands of Jesus.
We read in the entrance antiphon: “The Lord nurtured and taught her; he guarded her as the apple of his eyes. As the eagle spreads is wings to carry its young, He bore her on his shoulders. The Lord alone was her leader.”
As we celebrate the Solemnity of St. Therese of Child Jesus, virgin and doctor of the Church, and the patroness of missionaries to continue to inspire most of us who have not left our country of origin to spread the Good News abroad. She always wanted to be like St. Francis Xavier and other missionaries, and so she is endowed with this honour. We all need a heart filled with the fragrance of the roses that is charity towards all people.
Without humility like that of St. Therese, we cannot see the plan of God in reaching out to people. There is an immeasurable job in our hearts when we prioritize the needs of the needy and the voiceless in our own way. We are all at the crossroads of knowing and accepting the vocation that God has given to us in a unique way. Coping with someone will not help us to be in touch with what is truly entrusted to us.
When we have love in our hearts, we have less time to complain and find fault with other persons and situations. Our asking will be saturated in love and being is nourished without exploiting the other.
“Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me.” (Mt. 18:4,5). May we deal with our childish and selfish ways to become like a child who trusts the Father in Heaven.
May the Lord help us to be generous to the Lord by being missionary disciples in our own way. May God bless you.
