May the Lord give you peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 24th July 2021.
We reflect on Exodus 24:3-8 and the Gospel from Matthew 13:24-30.
Are we throwing the baby with the bucket?
We are basically and inherently good people. It is the environment and people whom we allow to encroach our lives extract the growth in us.
At times we all are in a hurry to get rid of the evil in us without allowing the good to enhance and engage ourselves. It is by patience we can deal with any evil in our lives.
While God is busy sowing the Word of Life, there is someone constantly, secretly, and subtly sowing the words of evil.
We continue to keep the promises we have made to the Lord as that of people of Israel. Even though they promised to follow the commandments, they ended by making their petty god to worship. Need to recall and recollect as often as we can all that we have vowed to the Lord.
The parable of the wheat and the weed is found only in the Gospel of Matthew. However weak, fragile, and vulnerable we might be in bringing out the best in us, the evil that pulls us down will not allow us to reach. It is by our patient endurance; we can save ourselves as the sanctuary of the Holy Spirit. To discern between good and evil is not that easy too.
It is time to concentrate on our good and protecting the good things and interactions that ultimately dealing the weeds that are injected into our lives. Without compromising truth and justice, we need to cultivate compassion, tolerance, patience, understanding, and endurance to bring out the best in us.
Let us not allow evil to have the final word in our lives. Being good and doing good is the antidote to eliminate the evil that stuns growth.
May the Lord bless you to be patient in allowing the good to grow. God bless you.
