May the Lord bless you with peace and health in the Holy Spirit.
It is 20th September 2021.
We celebrate the memorial of Saints Andrew Kim Tae-gon, Priest, Paul Chong Ha-sang and Companions, martyrs.
We reflect on Ezra 1:1-6 and the Gospel of Luke 8:16-18.
When we think, it is all over that is when God starts all over again from the dust. We all feel a particular thing to happen in our lifetime. Just because of lack of faith and hope, we lose the grip of love of life and living.
God surprises us pleasantly over and over. We just need a heart of love to perceive what God is planning to do. The unexpected and the least conceived in our minds happen in our lifetime and time again. It is not over yet. Nothing is finished at all. Our love and faith in God might diminish due to so many reasons but remembrance and reassurance of God surpass all human conditions. That is what happened to the people of Israel when they were humiliated and dehumanized in land as slaves. Rulers appear in human life, but God surges the moments of history. Coming home is an experience of hope, love, and joy. God will never compromise with God’s plan for each one of us. It is all question of time.
That is why the Gospel encourages us to look at our mindset. “Pay attention to how you listen.” (Lk.8:18). What we listen, so we believe and behave accordingly. It is pertaining to the Word of God. If we have listened to the Word of God, then we need to become the light to others. “Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path.” (Ps.119:105). Hence, what we hear need to become life otherwise, all that we had listened to gets forgotten by the lures of the world and eventually, we lose all that we had listened to. As a believer, we are to rise and shine. May our life become inspiration and light up hope in others. Yes, “the Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to people.” (Jn. 1:4)
It is the day we are called upon to pray for those people who have been forced or exiled and refused to worship, family life and relationships. May the Lord help us to hope in God no matter what the situation we face today. The best things are to happen in our life with the power and blessings of God. God bless you.
