It is 5th April 2021.

The readings are from Acts 2:14, 22-33; and the Gospel from Matthew 28:8-15.

When God is absent in our life, we endorse lies and liars.  No one can cover up and conceal the truth that is what happened in the Resurrection. The bodily resurrection of Jesus is the fundamental to our faith.  When we are ruled by fear, we cannot profess our faith in freedom and freewill.  Without believing the truth about the resurrection, we cannot comprehend at all. When the risen Lord is in our life, we are filled with the Spirit of truth and love.

The experience of Peter after Pentecost was that of having been filled by the Holy Spirit based on encountering the Risen Lord.  A personal experience with the Risen Lord is available to all of us in the Sacraments and in our day to today experiences of relating with one another.

“This Jesus God raised up, and of that all of us are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts. 2:33).

The encounter with the Risen Lord leads us to bear witness through our personal testimony followed by evangelisation.  Hence our encounter with the Lord is prerequisite for the evangelisation.  With flowery words, we cannot convince a human spirit and leading them to Christ.

The responsorial Psalm acclaims, “Keep me safe, O God; you are my refuge.” (Ps.16:1).  The Gospel presents with the feelings of awe and joy in the heart of the disciple.  Life is journey in which God never leaves our hand and supplies the resources to experience God’s love and forgiveness to all.  The Risen Lord goes ahead of us in our life because of His victory over sin, Satan, and death.

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”  (Mt.28:10).  Women were the first evangelisers of the resurrection who wanted to spread the truth about Jesus. “So, they took the money and did as they were directed.” (Mt. 28: There was another group of men who spread lies intentionally and maliciously because they could not digest truth that Jesus is risen and alive. Which camp we belong to?  Are we spreading or striding the resurrection of Jesus? Are we believing the rumours compromising the truth?  May the Risen Lord help us to be the witnesses for truth and embracing it without shame, fear, and force.  Have a lovely day.  God bless you.
