Good morning good people,

May the Lord give you peace, health, and happiness in the Holy Spirit.

It is 28th June 2024.

We reflect on 2 Kings 25:1-12 and Matthew 8:1-4.

Do we take our sinful life seriously?

We wonder at times why all these happen to me not the others.  Seldom do we recall the sins we have committed in the past is one of the reasons for the painful, disappointing, unproductive times in our lives.

Sin is not just merely an action but an attitude, a pattern and a persistent behaviour that is harmful to oneself and the others.  A negative thought paves way for the toxic behaviour that is selfish and sinful.

Everything looks bleak when failures fumes in our lives.  Most of our failures are due to our personal sins in our life.

We have a lesson to learn and reflect from the life of people of Isarel when they took God for granted and doing what they believed was right, they had to face the unmatchable army of Babylonians.  The kingdom of Judah went through national humiliation and the king Zedekiah was deported along with the people of Israel.

But the Good News is that God wants to heal our wounds of sins and free us from the slavery and addiction to sins.

When our attitude becomes humble and pure like that of the leper in the Gospel, we are assured of healing and purification from Jesus.

‘Sir, if you want to, you can cure me.’”  Jesus assured him, “Of course I want to!  Be cured!”  (Mt.8:2,3).

Sin isolates us from God and community.  But Jesus wants us to be reconciled with God and the community.  Are we ready to leave sin and be healed by the Lord?  Have a peaceful day.  God bless you.
