May the Lord give you grace and peace in the Holy Spirit.
It is on 22nd December 2022. We reflect on 1 Samuel 1:24-28 and Luke 1:46-56
What is the Magnificat of our life? Do we have a Magnificat to sing?
Having reflected on two annunciations namely the annunciation Mary and Elizabeth, we focus on the hymns of praises in the life of Mary and Hanna. Annunciation is God’s personal and intimate visitation to us as God did it in the past.
Every prayer is a petition that involves a promise to God. When it is complete, it turns out to be a commitment to God for the rest of our lives.
Words alone cannot magnify what God has done in our life.
“Therefore, I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives, he is given to the Lord.” She left him there for the Lord.” (1 Sam.1:28). Hanna magnified the Lord not merely by words but by giving her son to the Lord.
“And Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home.” (Lk.1:56). Mary’s visit to Elizabeth was not just social but spiritual and relational. She stayed with her to be admired, praised and applauded by Elizabeth but Mary served Elizabeth even though She was already carrying the Lord in Her womb.
When we are singing our magnificent, hymn of praise, will we have actions to substantial our words? May the Lord accept our song of praise and thanksgiving with actions. God bless you.
